It was Saturday evening and Richard was dressed in casual wear. "Hannah you ready yet?" He called to her. No matter what she decided to wear she would always looked wonderful in it. Since they had met and gotten to know each other Richard's eyes had only been for her.
No matter what he would do right by Hannah. His sea green eyes stared back at him in the mirror and he took a deep breath. They had been trying since they married to have kids. And now a couple of days later Richard was taking Hannah out to dinner. He had told her earlier not to cook that night.
He wanted to treat her to takeout. Even if the food did not taste good he would still have dessert... with Hannah. The man let out a contented sigh at the thought of becoming a father. He had yet to break the news with his fellow co-workers, but he hardly knew them. Though he would talk with his boss about getting some time off around Hannah's due date.
Heading to the front of the house he waited for Hannah. His thoughts were about nothing but her. Her beauty, stealing some kisses from her... hell maybe even some dirty whispers. Well not exactly dirty, but Richard loved her all the same. Movement caught his attention and he turned towards his wife.

Richard had insisted on a celebration, although Hannah protested. Still, he’d worn her down, and they were going out to dinner. He’d gone downstairs a while ago, and she was still getting ready, being slow quite on purpose. It was rare that Richard had to wait on her, but she’d decided to go all out tonight. She’d just finished her makeup and hair when he called up to find out if she was ready yet, and she just laughed to herself. He could just keep waiting. She’d opted to go casual, an indian style top, jeans, suede boots and some earrings to go with her wedding ring. Finally, she came down the stairs, tossing her hair back over her shoulder and grabbing a small purse that held the bare essentials. She kissed Richard lightly as she passed him going out the door, then turned back to him with a playful smile. ”Come on slowpoke.”The ride to the restaurant was filled with their usual chatter, nothing horribly exciting or informative. They were shown to a table at the back of the place, away from most of the others dining there this night. Hannah settled into the booth and perused the menu for something good to eat and decided to indulge a bit by having a cheeseburger. Her mental validation was that the baby needed iron. ”I have an appointment for Monday, just to get a baseline for the pregnancy and some prenatal vitamins. Do you think you can get off and come with me?”outfit

When Hannah had come downstairs Richard grinned at what she wore. Like always she knew how to rock her outfits. Richard offered his arm and led her to the car. Once she was settled in the passengers seat he got in the driver's side and drove to the restaurant. Soon they were at the restaurant and settled at a booth in a little hidden corner at the back. It was good. It gave them a little privacy.
Richard looked at the menu and wondered what he would have. Then he decided to have a rib eye steak with barbeque and french fries. Their waitress had tried to catch his attention but Richard ignored her except to order his food and drink. The waitress was disappointed as she walked away to bring back the water. When she returned she tried again to gain his attention, but besides thanking her for the water and sodas he did not give in to her flirtations. It would be a little while until their food came out so they decided to talk about Hannah's pregnancy.
"I can try. Dr. Shepard is a really decent guy. I'm sure he will allow me time off to be with you at your appointment. I need to talk to him about getting some time off around your due date as well. That way we'll both be there when our baby is born."
He smiled softly at his wife and gently took her hand in his. He remembered when Hannah didn't want to fall for his flirtations at first, but here they were a few years later. Married with a kid on the way. Soon their food arrived.

They ate, speaking quietly of normal things, Hannah not wanting to speak of the child really in the restaurant. It was still so new and private that she wanted to keep the news for herself for a little bit longer. Still, he'd gone to the trouble of taking them out, so she would force herself to talk about it. There were still a lot of issues that Hannah had left over from her first marriage, and Richard was always so patient working through them with her.
"What do you want?" Hannah was hoping for a girl herself, but she would be happy as long as the baby was healthy. She imagined that's what most first time parents wanted as well. She'd always imagined having a houseful of babies, so getting the start on that was exciting. She just hoped that the pregnancy went smoothly and that this meant they would find it easy to continue having children.
